Next-Generation Stackable Access Switch with High-Density 60W UPOE Power
The Cisco Catalyst C9300-48U-E is a next-generation, stackable enterprise access switch engineered to support secure, high-density network environments powered by IoT, mobility, and cloud-driven applications. As part of the industry-leading Catalyst 9300 Series, this switch delivers enterprise-class performance, advanced security, and flexible scalability for modern campus and branch deployments.
Equipped with 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the C9300-48U-E supports Cisco Universal Power over Ethernet (UPOE), delivering up to 60W per port - double the power of PoE+. This enables seamless deployment of high-power devices such as Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, virtual desktop endpoints, IP surveillance cameras, digital signage, and building automation systems. With a default 822W PoE budget and support for 1800W+ using dual power supplies, it is built for high-density powered device environments.
Built on Cisco’s UADP 2.0 ASIC architecture, the switch provides high-performance forwarding and policy-based automation while supporting modular uplink options for 1G, 10G, 25G, and 40G connectivity. StackWise-480 technology enables stacking of up to eight switches, delivering up to 480 Gbps stacking bandwidth and creating a single resilient switching system.
Running Cisco IOS XE with Network Essentials, the C9300-48U-E provides a robust foundation for SD-Access, segmentation, and policy-based automation. Advanced security features including AES-128 MACsec encryption, Encrypted Traffic Analytics (ETA), and 802.1X authentication protect network traffic while maintaining visibility into encrypted threats. Additionally, Perpetual PoE ensures uninterrupted power delivery to connected devices during switch reloads or upgrades.
Designed for enterprise reliability, scalability, and future-ready networking, the Cisco C9300-48U-E is ideal for campus networks, smart buildings, and high-performance enterprise environments.

FAQs:
Q1. Does this switch include the uplink module?
No. The C9300 series uses modular uplinks. You must order an optional Network Module (such as the C9300-NM-8X for 8 ports of 10G) separately.
Q2. What is the difference between Network Essentials and Network Advantage?
Network Essentials (this model) provides core Layer 3 routing (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP). Network Advantage adds advanced features like full BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and full SD-Access support.
Q3. Can I upgrade the PoE budget?
Yes. The switch has dual power supply slots. By adding a second 1100W AC power supply (PWR-C1-1100WAC-P), you can significantly increase the available UPOE budget for high-power devices.
Q4. Is this switch compatible with older Catalyst 3850 stacks?
No. Catalyst 9300 switches can only be stacked with other Catalyst 9300 models. They are not backward compatible for hardware stacking with the 3850 series.
Q5. Does it support 10G on the downlink ports?
No. The 48 downlink ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps only. If you require 10G on the downlinks, you should look at the Catalyst 9300 Multi-Gigabit (mGig) models.
