N5K-C5672UP Cisco Nexus 5672UP 32-port 10GBE/16xFCoE/6x40GBE Switch
High-Density, Unified Port 10/40GbE Data Center Switch with FCoE and Layer 3 Support
The Cisco Nexus 5672UP Unified Port Switch (N5K-C5672UP) is a high-performance, ultra-low-latency data center Top-of-Rack (ToR) switch designed to support converged Ethernet and storage networking in mission-critical environments. Part of the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series, the 5672UP delivers exceptional flexibility by combining 10/40GbE Ethernet and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) in a compact 1RU form factor.
The switch features 48 Unified Ports (UP) that can be configured as 1/10GbE Ethernet or 8/16G native Fibre Channel, enabling seamless convergence of LAN and SAN traffic on a single platform. In addition, six 40GbE QSFP+ uplink ports provide high-speed connectivity to aggregation or spine layers, making the Nexus 5672UP ideal for scalable data center fabrics.
With a switching capacity of 1.44 Tbps, forwarding performance up to 1 billion packets per second, and sub-microsecond cut-through latency, the Cisco Nexus 5672UP ensures deterministic performance for latency-sensitive workloads such as virtualization, databases, and storage traffic. A 25 MB shared packet buffer helps manage bursty traffic and congestion efficiently.
Running Cisco NX-OS, the switch supports rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 features including vPC, OSPF, BGP, VRF, HSRP, multicast routing, and advanced security controls such as ACLs, role-based access, and control plane policing (CoPP). Built-in FCoE support, along with VNTag and VM-aware networking, simplifies SAN convergence and enhances visibility in virtualized environments.
Designed for nonstop operations, the Nexus 5672UP includes dual hot-swappable power supplies, redundant fan trays, and flexible front-to-back or back-to-front airflow options. It integrates seamlessly with Cisco Nexus 2000 Fabric Extenders, Cisco UCS, Cisco ACI architectures, and Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) for centralized management and automation.
