FAQs:

Q1. Is this module compatible with the original Nexus 7000 chassis?
No. The N77 series modules are specifically designed for the Nexus 7700 chassis and are not backward compatible with the Nexus 7000/7000-E series.

Q2. Does this module support 10G breakout?
Yes. Each 40G QSFP+ port can be broken out into four 10G SFP+ ports using a MPO-to-4xLC breakout cable or a QSFP-to-4xSFP+ copper breakout cable.

Q3. Can I mix F3-Series modules with M-Series or F2-Series modules?
The Nexus 7700 supports VDCs (Virtual Device Contexts). While you can have different module types in the same chassis, you generally cannot mix different module families within the same VDC.

Q4. What is the maximum distance supported by the ports?
This depends on the QSFP+ optic used. For example, QSFP-40G-SR4 supports up to 150m over OM4 fiber, while QSFP-40G-LR4 supports up to 10km over single-mode fiber.

Q5. Does this card support FCoE?
Yes. The F3-Series modules are designed to support Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), enabling the convergence of storage and data traffic on a single physical infrastructure.
